Scope of Services
Welcome to Natasha Bayman Counselling. My aim is to provide a safe, supportive and confidential environment where clients can explore life’s challenges, improve emotional wellbeing and work towards meaningful personal growth.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology, a Diploma in Hypnosis, and a Diploma in Life Coaching. I provide supportive counselling, coaching and hypnosis within the scope of my training and experience.
I am a lay counsellor and not a registered psychologist, psychiatrist or medical practitioner with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). Accordingly:
- I do not diagnose mental health conditions or medical disorders.
- I do not prescribe medication.
- I do not provide psychological or psychiatric assessments.
- My services are not a substitute for medical, psychological or psychiatric treatment.
Where appropriate, I may recommend that a client consults a registered psychologist, psychiatrist, medical practitioner or another suitably qualified healthcare professional. Referrals are made when a client’s needs fall beyond the scope of my services or when specialist assessment or treatment is recommended.
Confidentiality
Your privacy is treated with the utmost respect. Information shared during counselling sessions will remain confidential and will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent, except where disclosure is required or permitted by law.
Confidentiality may need to be limited where:
- there is a serious risk of harm to yourself;
- there is a serious risk of harm to another person;
- abuse, neglect or exploitation of a child or vulnerable person is suspected or disclosed;
- disclosure is required by a court order or applicable South African law.
Where possible and appropriate, I will discuss any necessary disclosure with you before taking action.
Client Responsibility
Counselling is a collaborative process. While every effort is made to support clients in achieving their goals, outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Clients remain responsible for their own decisions, actions and wellbeing throughout and after the counselling process.
Clients are encouraged to be open and honest during sessions and to communicate any concerns regarding the counselling process.
Medical Emergencies
My services are not suitable for medical or psychiatric emergencies.
If you are experiencing thoughts of suicide, are at immediate risk of harming yourself or others, or require urgent psychiatric or medical assistance, please contact your nearest emergency medical service, hospital, registered healthcare provider or emergency support service immediately.
Consent
By booking and attending counselling sessions, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms & Conditions and agree to participate voluntarily in supportive counselling provided within the scope described above.
