Cognitive Brain Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy focuses on using your own experiences and identity to reframe and rewire unhelpful thought patterns. By challenging negative beliefs and replacing them with healthier perspectives, CBT supports lasting change. It is especially effective when combined with practical exercises and, in some cases, hypnosis.

Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a powerful tool that works with the subconscious mind to release unhelpful thought patterns. In the hands of a professional, it can create lasting change by helping the conscious and subconscious work together—making it easier to break free and move forward with confidence.

Meditation

Meditation is about learning to guide your body and mind, rather than switching them off. By practising focus and awareness, you give your mind a clear direction instead of letting it take control. Breathing techniques play a key role, helping to regulate stress and restore balance.

Talk Therapy

Sometimes the most powerful step is simply having space to talk. Talk Therapy provides a supportive, non-judgemental environment where you can share openly, process your thoughts, and ease the weight on your mind.

A human who became authentic.

Growing up was tough, and like many of my clients, I faced challenges that shaped my resilience. In adulthood, life became even more difficult—jobs came and went, people manipulated and hurt me, and I often turned that pain inward. I became my own harshest critic, convinced that nothing I did was ever good enough.

My turning point came when I sought help from a Psychologist. With his guidance, I began to see that what I was experiencing wasn’t weakness—it was part of being human. His support inspired me to follow this path myself, so I could help others find their own strength and healing.

Today, I walk alongside my clients with authenticity and compassion. I don’t claim perfection—I embrace being beautifully imperfect. My belief is simple: being your best doesn’t mean being better than someone else; it means being better than you were yesterday, for yourself.

Authenticity is at the heart of my work. I aim to create a space where you can discover self-love, self-acceptance, and the freedom to live as your true self. Because life is too short not to be you.

Anxiety

Anxiety is one of the most common experiences in our modern society. It is often connected to fear—the fear of the unknown and the feeling of being out of control. Life’s ups and downs can create patterns of worry that the brain holds onto for survival. While this response once served us well, in today’s world it can prevent us from truly living. This is where professional support can make a difference. Together, we can begin to rewire these patterns and restore a sense of control. You’ll learn practical tools to use throughout your life—especially helpful if you’re seeking peace, struggling with constant overthinking, or finding it hard to enjoy a full night’s sleep.

Depression

Depression can feel like a pit of sadness and hopelessness. It often follows anxiety, when efforts seem fruitless and beliefs are shaken by the unpredictability of life. You may find that no matter how much you try, nothing feels like success. Sadness lingers, happiness feels unfamiliar, and even when joy arises, it may bring confusion or doubt. Over time, sadness can become your norm, making it difficult to recognise or trust other emotions. Through talking and gently exploring these thought patterns, it becomes possible to understand the subconscious mind and begin restoring balance. While it would be untrue to say you will never feel sadness again, it is realistic to create space where happiness becomes the norm, with moments of sadness rather than the other way around.

Confidence and self-worth

As children, we often carry a natural confidence—a carefree sense of self visible even in old photographs. Over time, as we grow more self-aware and seek to fit in, that confidence can begin to fade. When we struggle to succeed, to connect, or to live up to expectations—our own or others’—we may start comparing ourselves and feeling “less than.” Attempts to “fake it” rarely lead to lasting confidence, and each setback can chip away at our sense of self-worth. Therapy offers a path to rebuild from within. By exploring your identity—who you are and who you are not—you can begin a journey of self-discovery. Through this process, you can develop genuine self-trust and a grounded sense of worth that does not depend on external validation. True confidence begins with knowing yourself.

Feeling stuck

There are times when life feels as though it’s going nowhere. This may happen when you’ve achieved your goals but life now feels empty, or when you’ve worked hard toward your goals yet nothing seems to succeed. You may have tried everything—books, advice, countless self-help videos—only to feel frustrated that what works for others hasn’t worked for you. Whether the goal is personal, professional, or relational, the result can be the same: boredom, doubt, or the urge to give up. Questions naturally arise: Why does this happen? Did I choose the wrong path? Is something wrong with me? The truth is, there is usually a reason, you likely did not choose the wrong thing, and there is nothing inherently wrong with you. With professional support, it becomes possible to uncover the underlying causes of feeling stuck. By identifying blind spots and shifting limiting beliefs, you can regain momentum and create meaningful change in your life.

Assertiveness

Assertiveness is often misunderstood. It does not mean being selfish or aggressive—it means having the courage to honour your inner voice. Saying “no” when you mean no, or “yes” when you mean yes, without guilt, is a powerful way to show yourself respect. Each time you listen to your true feelings, you strengthen your sense of self-worth. Learning to respect yourself also makes it easier to stand up for yourself, while understanding that you are not responsible for how others choose to react. If someone responds poorly to your boundaries, it often reflects their own insecurities rather than your actions. Developing assertiveness can feel uncomfortable at first, but without it, self-respect is difficult to achieve—and without self-respect, it is hard to genuinely respect others. With professional support, you can explore these challenges and build assertiveness in a way that supports your personal growth.

Anger and frustration

Anger and frustration often arise when we feel unheard or unable to be ourselves. While these emotions may look different for each person, they are not identity—they are behaviours that mask deeper feelings hidden in the subconscious. Without understanding our triggers, anger can feel overwhelming and out of control. Pretending to have control when we don’t can be harmful, leading us to cross boundaries and do things we later regret. Working with a professional provides a safe, non-judgemental space to explore these patterns, uncover root causes, and develop healthier ways to respond. By facing these emotions rather than suppressing them, it becomes possible to find peace, self-acceptance, and a sense of freedom—not acceptance of the anger itself, but acceptance that it does not have to define you or remain a permanent part of your life.

How Much Will a
Session Cost?

Natasha Bayman Logo

Rates

Nothing truly valuable comes without some investment. I believe support should be both meaningful and accessible, which is why my fee is set at R350 per session—lower than most, not because I undervalue my work, but because I want more people to access help when they need it.

I also offer a free 30-minute meet-and-greet session. This isn’t a deep dive, but a chance for us to connect, answer your questions, and see if we’re the right fit for one another. Think of it as a test drive—because finding the right counsellor matters.

Investing in yourself is one of the most powerful choices you can make. Sometimes, it starts with a simple conversation.
